The Appling County Touchdown Club is ramping up and preparing for its game. And the club is looking for you to join the team. The members are ready for the new season to get started and games are about to begin. The question is this: Where are you? The TD Club, and the Pirate football team are ready for you, and need you. Are you ready for the Pirates and the TD Club?
The Pirates will begin its season with a scrimmage game in Hazlehurst this Friday, August 7, against the always ready Yellow Jackets of Jeff Davis County. It is our hope and expectation that our stands will be filled with loud and excited Pirate fans.
The TD Club has been supporting the Pirates for many, many years, and this year is no different. It is our hope that we not only fill the seats for our Pirates for all of our games, but that we fill our meetings with new members, as well as our existing members.
The Touchdown club meets weekly once the season begins. Our next meeting is this coming Monday, August 10, at the Sleep Inn Meeting Room, at 6:30 p.m. A meal is served for $10.00 per member. Guests are free. The sole purpose of the TD Club is to give 100% support of the money raised to the Pirate football program. Head Coach John David (JD) Sellers will be at each meeting, along with some of his staff, giving his review of the previous week’s battle, along with his thoughts for the upcoming game. Coach Sellers is excited for the upcoming season. It is my hope that we be just as excited for him and our team.
The following is the schedule for the year. Be sure to join us as we support our Pirates.

The TD Club has two fundraisers that go to support the players and the organization. The first is the “30-day gun raffle”. The tickets are $30.00 per person. Each day of the month of the raffle, a winner is awarded a gun, or ammo of the day.
Following is the very popular 50/50 raffle, offered later in the season. The winner wins half of the money raised; approximately $5,000.00. Please remember, the money raised goes to the Appling County Football team; to give supplements, food, and other things needed, as well as the letter jackets for the awarded players.
Consider joining our club. Club memberships vary, according to the choice that you choose. The prices for membership can be found on the home page of the Appling County Touchdown Club. The memberships range, but all the money raised goes to the football program.
Supporting our Pirates is vital for the growth of our players; for their future as men, and citizens of our community, country, and the world. This is the hope of the Touchdown Club.
Join us, if you will.
