There are often times when even the most devout professed Christians question whether the Lord has heard their prayers or wonder about the benefit of lodging the divine petitions. It is first important to realize the process of prayer is recognized as the method by which believers communicate with God. That is supposed to be representative of a mutual exchange of information between the two parties.
Unfortunately, in communication, many people are only concerned with what they have to say and aren’t at all interested in details others might care to express. Such is most commonly the case when “talking” to the Lord. We will gladly stop and set aside time to convey our desires, needs, and problems with full confidence that those requests will be appropriately addressed by the Savior. The understanding and supporting scripture is found in John 14:13-14 King James Version (KJV) 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
It is a given fact that, just like in the natural, there are those who lack a true spiritual understanding of the Father’s intent when trying to discern His will for our lives. We sometimes base belief of the Lord’s desire for us upon what amounts to fables, misinformation, or simply misguided conjecture.
