Both the Appling County Middle School Rams and Lady Rams Basketball teams played for the Conference Championship on Thursday, December 18, at the ACMS Gym.

The Lady Rams played first, facing the Pierce County Middle School Lady Bears. Appling led the Lady Bears at the end of the first quarter 11-8, entering the half 13-12. The Lady Rams pulled away in the third quarter 28-15 and dominated in the fourth, winning the game 37-21.

The boys team faced the Brantley County Herons. Appling was the first to score in their match-up, playing close with the first quarter ending with a score of 9-5. The game was tied at halftime, 16-16. Brantley County took the lead for the first time in the third, though the quarter ended with Appling ahead by two points. The Rams continued to control the game, with a final score of 44-36 after a hard-fought battle.
