The Appling County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, December 2, at the Courthouse Annex. The invocation was given by Jonathan Mann, and the pledge was led by Chad Kent.
The minutes from the November 4 regular meeting and the November 18 called meeting were approved.

Executive director for the Georgia Recreation and Park Association presented Appling County Parks and Recreation with the 2025 Agency of the Year Award for the 10,000-20,000 population range. Out of 230 applications, ACRD was selected due to the department’s impactful response to Hurricane Helene and efforts toward special needs programming found in the Amazing Appling Athletes league, providing them with an opportunity to be publicly celebrated for their achievements. The department posts athletic events year-round, often at full capacity. Appling County regularly hosts state-level athletic events, which are known for the professionalism of the staff and the welcoming nature of the community, which embraces other communities and players visiting the town. The GRPA Executive Director commended county leadership for their continued support of the Parks and Recreation Department under the leadership of director Timmy McGuirt and his team.
