On Saturday, March 21, the Appling County High School Literary Team travelled to Georgia Military College to compete in the GHSA AA State Literary meet. Out of the team, CJ Sailem was able to win the AA State Championship for the Boys Solo performance. Sailem received a perfect score from one judge and a 99 out of 100 from the other judge.
The Girl’s Trio group also received fourth place. Members included Emily Rentz, Dallas Johnson, and Stacie Grandstaff. Kane Eason also placed fourth in the argumentative essay section, and Marlee Vaughn placed fourth in the Personal Essay.
Congratulations to all of the Pirates that competed at the state meet and represented Appling County very well. GO PIRATES!
