JAMES T. “JIMMY” WIGLEY


James T. “Jimmy” Wigley, 54, of Baxley passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at his residence.
Jimmy was born on November 13, 1971 in Bacon County to the late James Levi Wigley and the late Nina Beth Hunter Wigley. He served as the maintenance manager at Healthy Pet and dedicated his life to the fire service, proudly serving as a firefighter since 1991. Jimmy served with the Baxley Fire Department and the Surrency Fire Department as a fire instructor. His commitment and steady presence made a lasting impact on his community.
He took great pride in his work with the Atlanta Fire Pit Crew at Atlanta Motor Speedway and was a valued member of the inaugural Appling County Dive Team. Jimmy’s life was marked by service, loyalty, and a deep love for the people and places he devoted himself to.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Wigley of Baxley; daughters, Jessica Wigley, Hailei Tillmon, and Kaley (Gaines) Spell all of Baxley; sons, Jake Martinez and J. J. Mincey both of Baxley; sister, Katie (David) Davis of Baxley. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Williamson and Rev. Brannon Pate officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeffrey McLellan, Michael McDaniel, Joe Oxendine, Josh Douglas, Ronnie Mullis and Bill Holcombe.
Honorary pallbearers were the past & present fellow firefighters and the maintenance department of Healthy Pet.
Musical selections were rendered by Glenn Beach.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
