When we think of slaves, we do not think of our modern-day society. When we think of slaves, we think of people who are in bondage to someone else. In reality, most of society is obedient slaves to the government in one way or another. We pay taxes on money we make, while paying taxes on money we spend, to be taxed on the things we already own that have already been taxed, to give those taxes to other countries, or to fund corrupt politicians. The obedient always seen to think of themselves as virtuous rather than the cowards that they really are.
Henry David Thoreau said, “Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The Obedient must be slaves.”
What if the founding fathers of our great country would have been obedient slaves to England rather than bucking the system and starting the Revolutionary War? We would still be slaves to the crown. I can hear reactions now if that were in modern times. People would ask for references, ask for proof, and see what Google said about it. Nobody wants to buck the system because they like everything to be easy. The mindset is if we do what we are told and what we are supposed to do then we can continue to have our comfort and ease. You can also be a slave to comfort. When the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, they complained to Moses that they had it better in Egypt where they were slaves because it was more comfortable. The wilderness was hard, and they could not see past their current discomfort to see what was waiting at the end.
We are indoctrinated to this government slave lifestyle, all the while believing we are free. The ones that see through the deception and rebel against the system are not always the type people you would expect. To be able to see through the illusion does not depend on education. It depends on awareness. Some of the most educated people are the most indoctrinated because colleges strive to produce indoctrinated government slaves. The ones that are standing up and speaking out are observers, sensitive, intuitive, and awake to the suppression. They are called rebels, but they are fighting for everyone’s freedom whether you realize it or not.
Your freedom is not being taken away at gunpoint now, but rather one piece of paper at a time, one rule, bill, or law at a time, and one silencing at a time. The water is starting to boil, and the American people are the frog that is unaware. There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action, and that is what we are witnessing today. Nobody wants to hear or listen to the ones sounding the alarm. The man who speaks too much truth ends up talking to himself. If the people would question the government, the way they question independent thinkers we could get somewhere.
Patrick Henry said, “Is life so dear, or peace sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me give me liberty or give me death!”
