Time is filled with swift transition; none on earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal, and then hold to God’s unchanging hand. That is the opening line of one of my favorite old southern gospel songs. There is a lot of truth in that one line.

Lauri Anne Jacobs
In this world, things change in the blink of an eye, and the storms of life come in swiftly and rage. We are guaranteed to have storms in this life. There is no avoiding that, but what we can do instead of trying to avoid the inevitable is learn to dance in the storm while holding to God’s unchanging hand. There is a lot of swift transition happening lately. Things are changing faster than I ever thought I would see in my lifetime. My heart goes out to Charlie Kirk’s widow as she is enduring one of the hardest times in her life. She is standing strong and firm in her faith while setting an example to the world of forgiveness and complete trust in God during the tragic storm she is going through. Her storm is televised and very public, but all of us weather storms behind closed doors in our own lives with each of us handling them differently.
“Life isn’t about waiting on the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” -Vivian Greene.
Feelings are not who we are; we just experience them. Anger, sadness, hate, depression, fear, and many others are the storm we walk in, but we do not become the storm. We must remind ourselves that this too shall pass, and the sun will shine again. Some storms are out of our control, but some storms we create ourselves through choices. The self-created ones are where you must learn to accept the results of your actions and learn from it. The storms out of our control are where we must let God take control and trust in him for guidance. In this life, nothing is permanent, and everything changes.
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV.
Some seasons will be good, while others will be difficult. It is in the difficult seasons that we learn and grow. Growth and change are often painful, but it is not the end. I, myself, do not like change and have had to learn many hard lessons in learning to accept change. As I have gotten older, I’ve learned it is much better to dance in the storm, trusting that God is there with me than to fight it. When the storms of life are raging, God will stand by us and guide us through. He rules the wind and water and has never lost a battle. We just have to learn to let go and trust. We can either cry in the storm or dance in the rain, embracing life’s storms with resilience and faith rather than waiting for the hard times to pass.
