As you all know, Charlie Kirk was killed Wednesday, September 10, at a Utah college event. Charlie was a conservative Christian, co-founder of Turning Point USA, and an ally of President Donald Trump. He stood for everything good that our country was founded on, truth, morality, and Biblical Christian values. His strong beliefs and standing on the word of God cost him his life.
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall cut his life short for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it” Mark 8:35. Charlie’s life was cut short for God’s sake and the gospel. I talked about the gift of growing old in last week’s article and it reminded me that Charlie will not receive that gift. He has received even better; great rewards in heaven and the words “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Charlie was a good man who built his platform making a good faith effort to model civil political discourse and debate in the public square. His project was built on reaching across the divide using speech, not violence to address and resolve the issues. He was really reaching the young people and making a difference. That sent the armies of hell raging. I am reminded of when Judas betrayed Jesus. The Bible tells us in Luke 22:3 that Satan entered into Judas. The boy that killed Charlie was full of the Devil and brainwashed by liberal progressive propaganda. So many young people go to college and sit under these liberal professors spewing poison propaganda, then they stay on the computer feeding more of the same poison into their minds. It does not take much of that to open the door for seeds to be planted in the minds and the devil to finish his job.
I am shocked at the number of liberals who are celebrating his death and making jokes. When George Floyd was killed for resisting arrest, cities were burned down. There was an outcry from the left that the police had to be punished, so a sacrifice was made by sending the arresting officer to prison. Unlike when Charlie Kirk was assassinated no cities were burned and no rioting. The left claims he was a racist bigot because he did not support DEI and believed word-for-word what the Bible says. Not supporting DEI does not make anyone racist. It just means you believe people should be hired on qualification and experience rather that race, sex, or sexual orientation. DEI is nothing but Affirmative Action repackaged on steroids. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas strongly opposed Affirmative Action and was ridiculed and called an Uncle Tom for taking that stand.
Any Christian conservative who takes a stand against the liberal left’s ideology is ridiculed, persecuted, and in Charlie’s case murdered. He was a modern-day martyr who was killed for spreading the word of God. We need to remember what Ephesians 6:12 says; “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood. but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of the world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Charlie Kirk has run his race here on Earth, and I know when he entered the kingdom of heaven, he was met with the saints rejoicing and welcoming him into the arms of Jesus. His wife and family are suffering immense grief, and heartbreak now, but they can draw comfort knowing they will see him again one day. “For his anger endure but moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” Psalm 30:5.
