Jacquelyn Ballenger McKinnon

 

Mrs. Jacquelyn Ballenger McKinnon, 70, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her residence under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a former farmer, caregiver, and worked with children in the community.

Mrs. McKinnon is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Wilkes and Martha Veal Ballenger.

Survivors include her son, Joel McKinnon of Baxley, daughters, Clair Atkins and husband Ashley, and Maycile McCall of Baxley, grandchildren, Jameson McCall, and Blythe Atkins of Baxley, brother, Daniel Minchew of Washington, D.C., sister, Sandra Ballenger of Baxley, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Baxley First Church Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Baxley First Church at 217 S. Main St., Baxley, GA 31513.
