Carrie Lee

Carrie Lee Bryant, 82, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
Ms. Bryant was born September 27, 1942, in Appling County to the late Wade Horace Orvin and Carrie Lee Branch Orvin. She has been a multiple business owner and later in life worked as a CNA because of her desire to help others. Carrie had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy to everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Larry W. Miles and Bobby E. Bryant; her parents, Wade H. and Carrie Branch Orvin; five sisters, Jeanette Bowman, Wynell Bush, Marilyn Trogdon, Annette Osborne, Dorothy O’Steen, and three brothers, R.L Orvin, D.C. Orvin, and Mickey Orvin.
She is survived by her son, L. Willis Miles (Ashley) of Albany, two daughters, Shemane Miles Hollis (Vince), of Tallahassee, FL and Melanie Smith (Kenny) of Greensboro NC; one sister, Jackie Hayes of Brantley County, and three brothers, J.W. (Patricia) Orvin, H.B. (Martha) Orvin, Danny (Brenda) Orvin, all of Baxley. Seven grandchildren, Miles Hollis (Andrea) Savannah, Hunter Hollis Jacksonville, FL, Halee Hollis Tallahassee, FL, Peyton Smith (Brook) Zebulon, NC, Carrie Kennedy Berkelhammer (Noah) Greensboro, NC, Holladay Miles, Adaline Miles; two great-great grandchildren, Carrie Holden Smith, Landon Gray Smith; beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Monday, June 9, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home of Baxley with Reverend Patrick Owens, Justin Orvin, and Glenn O’Steen.
Interment followed in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 1067 Bethel Free Will Road, Baxley.
Active Pallbearers were Miles Hollis, Peyton Smith, Hunter Hollis, Noah Berkelhammer, Kyle Orvin, and Brandon Orvin. Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Stephanie Allen and the congregation.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church c/o Jeff Herrington 5509 Lake Mayers Rd, Baxley, Georgia 31513.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
