Roger Dale Vaughn

Roger Dale Vaughn, age 76, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Appling Healthcare Pavilion. Roger was a lifelong resident of Appling County, spending his last few years at Appling Healthcare Pavilion. Roger loved sports, playing baseball and shooting pool with his brothers and friends. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Vaughn and mother, Beatrice Arnold Vaughn; his wife, Deloris Rebecca Smith Miles Vaughn; four brothers, Raymond Vaughn, Thurmon Vaughn, Sherwood Vaughn and David Vaughn; and one sister, Bobbie Vaughn Johnson.
Survivors include his son, Brad Vaughn of Baxley; daughter, Kristy Vaughn Beach (Chad) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Alia Vaughn Evers (Ethan) of St. Marys; Hailey, Caleb, and Colby Beach of Hazlehurst; great granddaughter, Eliza Vaughn of St. Marys; sisters, Reba McLeod of Vidalia, Joyce Stover of Baxley, Peggy Middleton of Huntsville, AL, and Betty Boatright of Baxley; step children, Toni Tomberlin of Baxley, Lyn Butler (Freddy) of Baxley, Angie Waddell (Carl) of Aiken SC, and Patrick Miles of Baxley; special step grandson, Blake Tomberlin (Katie) of Baxley; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; and special friend Bobbie McGuirt also survive.
Especially, much love and gratitude for Tammy and Wayne Canady, Cindy Stewart, Lisa Vaughn, and Johnny Vaughn, precious great niece C.G. Stewart, for coming by each day to check on Uncle Roger. Your love, care, and compassion will never be forgotten.
The care given to Mr. Roger from the staff and nurses of Appling Healthcare Pavilion is so appreciated for seven years. He dearly loved and was so grateful to you all. Each and every one were like family, there is a special place in heaven for each of you.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Nobles Funeral Home with the Reverend Tommy Daniels officiating.
Interment followed in the Friendship Church Cemetery.
