Eddie Pearl Porter Sharpe

Mrs. Eddie Pearl Porter Sharpe was born on February 17, 1944, to the late Cleveland Porter and Louise Mallard in Blakely. She received her education in the public county school of Pierce County.
A devoted member of First-Born Church of the Living God. She held the position of District Mother under the leadership of Pastor Brenda Burse.
As a guiding light in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her, she was known as “Mama Pearl.” Her dedication to service of her community and helping those around her was unconditionally marked by love, compassion, service, and unwavering faith in God.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Gene George, two brothers, Tracey Lee Porter and Claude David Porter.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including five children: Sarah Lewis Johnson (John) Charlotte, NC. William Monroe Madison Jr. (Della); Brenda G. Carroll (Michael), Alma, Christopher Madison (Tavia), Myrtle Beach, SC, Tony J. Madison (Natorra), Alma. One sister-in law Cecilia Porter Atlanta. Twenty grandchildren, Forty-two great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
Long-time life friends William Monroe Madison Sr. Velma Floyd, Linda Lane, Betty Battle, Rosie Hargrave. Three long-time village of sister friends, Perline Sinkfield, Dorceil Smiley, and Eva Mae Smith. Two special daughters of love: Shavon Broady Williams and Kerie Dunson. Special love and appreciation to Katheline Adderley. And a host of Godchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the First African Baptist Church, in Alma. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery, located in Blackshear.
C.M. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
