Betty Jo Dixon

Mrs. Betty Jo Dixon, 93, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Comfort Care Hospice. She was born February 19, 1932, to the late Alton Vance and Mary Francis Milton and was a lifelong resident of Appling County. Mrs. Betty was a retired seamstress and Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church member since childhood. She was a Proverbs 31 mother who deeply loved her family and raised them with a strong Christian belief and love for our Savior. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death are her husband, Quitman Kenneth Dixon; daughter-in-law, Doris Moody; siblings, Mary Jean Gardner, Earl Vance Milton, and George Harold Milton, Sr. Surviving are her children, Harry Wilson Moody, Alton (Bub) Moody and wife Lynn, and Terry James Moody and wife Sharon; grandchildren, William (Bo) Moody and wife Brittany, Jennifer Lammons and husband Jeffery, Donna Mills, and Dawn Watkins and husband Jimmy; great-grandchildren, Hailey Stone, Harley Stone, Maddie Moody, Hadley Moody, Clay Moody, Kyle Krafczyk, Kaylie Krafczyk, Keith Krafczyk, and Kylie Krafczyk; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Sapp, Reverend David Barber, and Chris Taylor officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dixon lay in state one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Ten Mile Creel Baptist Church. Active Pallbearers were Joe Gardner, Skip Milton, George Milton, Jr., Robert Bartles, William (Bo) Moody, and Kyle Krafczyk. Honorary Pallbearers were the Naomi Sunday School Class and members of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church, the staff of Comfort Care Hospice, Bobby and Monica Gardner, and all family and friends. Nobles Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Mrs. Betty Jo Dixon.
