HAROLYN RENTZ KENT

Harolyn Rentz Kent, 83, of Surrency passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Appling Healthcare.
Mrs. Kent was born on December 7, 1942 in Appling County to the late James Harold Rentz and the late Juanita Combs Rentz. She was a member of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. Early in her adult life, she was a kindergarten teacher in Sebring, Florida. She and her husband, Albert, were co-owners of Kent Tile where she was the bookkeeper for many years. Mrs. Kent also enjoyed interior decorating and worked part-time with her sister, Barbara, at Barbara’s Interiors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kent; brothers, Ed Rentz and Rodney Rentz; and sister, Lawanda “Prissy” Rentz.
Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Robin & Bobby Helms; grandchildren, Ashley (Jarred) Eddy and Kyle (Olivia) Helms; great grandchildren, Kinslee Eddy, Carter Eddy, and Mattie Mae Helms; sisters, Barbara (Auburn) Horton, Glenda Bass, Cheryl Stone, Judy McDaniel, Marilyn (Larry) Hall, and Janice Craven.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation was held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10:00 with the funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Brian Kent, Hunter Kent, Clint Bass, Colby Kent, Chad Kent, and Dino Craven.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
