Rogers, Arkansas is home to the Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match where youth across the United States compete in a 5-meter four-position match and a written safety test to exhibit skill, precision, knowledge, and excellence in the sport. Athletes compete in four distinct physical positions known as prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing. This event allows youth the opportunity to gather with countless teams and individuals from other states, the best of the best, and learn from those who share a deep love and value for youth target sports programs Teams of youth must qualify at local and state levels to earn an invitation to this match to compete amongst nearly 500 elite competitors as they strive to achieve highest honors in the nation related to the sport of BB. Reaching this level requires a level of dedication and discipline that is not acquired overnight. These youth develop immense life skills as they work individually to harness their abilities and unite as a team to build one another up in sportsmanship.
The Appling County 4-H BB Team earned a space to compete at the 2026 Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match in Arkansas this summer, and this team was nothing short of exemplary! Daisy National Team Members included: Emma Prencke, Hannah Rangel, Emma Grace Herndon, Aidan Quinn, Keagan Toole, Shelby Edwards, and Moriah Howard. This team has been coached by Daniel Carter, Jeremy Sapp, Keri Sapp, Priscilla Howard, and April Sweat throughout the season as they prepared to compete at this level. They excelled as they competed against teams from across the country over the course of the event. Georgia 4-H had incredible representation with teams from across our state, many of which exhibited excellence for their counties and teams as well! Youth target sports programs not only build impeccable athletes but equip young people with skills to develop into future leaders as they foster a sense of belonging, promote goal setting and management, encourage a growth mindset, and offer real-life experiences that build readiness skills.
Appling County 4-H is tremendously proud of our BB Athletes and Coaches who achieved notable success at this year’s national match. Appling County 4-H BB brought home many awards and recognition for both the team as a whole and for individual awards. The team earned 5th Place Overall and received 2nd Place Overall for Highest Team Score for Written Test. Aidan Quinn earned 1st Place Overall in Kneeling Alternate, and Hannah Rangel and Emma Grace Herndon were two of only a select few athletes who earned 100% score on the Written Test. Additional achievements by Appling 4-H Athletes included the setting of Personal Record Scores for Aidan Quinn, Emma Prencke, and Emma Grace Herndon. These are outstanding achievements by this team of athletes, and we are honored by their commitment to excellence and representing Appling County with pride on the national scale!
