YANCEY LEE CARTER

Yancey Lee Carter, 62, of Baxley passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026 at his residence.
Yancey was born on December 1, 1963, in Appling County and worked for Lee’s Pest Control. He had a passion for world history and horror movies. He also appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including searching for arrowheads, listening to music, such as The Rolling Stones, and playing guitars. Yancey was preceded in death by his father, Bertise Lee Carter.
Survivors include his spouse, Patricia Ann Carter of Baxley; daughters, Olivia Carter and Shannon Carter both of Baxley; mother, Linda Youmans Carter; brothers, Heath Carter and Laney Carter both of Baxley; and a granddaughter, Lilly Marlene Voitechonok also survives.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Daniels and Rev. Nathan Dyal officiating.  Interment followed in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Robert Todd, Drake Carter, Heath Carter, Trampis Carter, Ryker Carter and Keith Collins.
Musical selections were rendered by Rev. Tommy Daniels and Kim Hall.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Swain Funeral Home.
