SHARON COBB REEVES

Ms. Sharon Cobb Reeves, 75, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Lakeview Retirement Center in Baxley.
Sharon was born on August 2, 1950, in Fort Walton Beach, FL. She was the second of four children to her parents, the late JC and Betty Cobb. She was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School and received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Valdosta State University. She married her then-husband, the late Steve Kerr, and became a 4th grade teacher in the Ben Hill County school system for several years before giving birth to her first child, Robby, and deciding to be a stay-at-home mom. After her second child, Rusty, she returned to work as a substitute teacher in Appling County, where she had made her home. This allowed her to be at home with her children while also giving her the opportunity to pursue her passion for teaching. She volunteered for many organizations, including The Women of Georgia Power and Appling County Choral Boosters, where both of her children were in the show choir. She volunteered for many years, working with both the children and youth at First Baptist Church in Baxley, where she chaperoned many youth trips and summer camps. She worked with the Children’s Choir and Vacation Bible School and could usually be found near the refreshments, getting them set up and making sure that every child had enough to eat.
Once both her children had completed high school, Sharon returned to Appling County Primary School as a Kindergarten teacher. After 15 1/2 years, she retired from teaching and spent her time loving with her wonderful husband, the late George Reeves, and her beloved little puppy, Daisy. She eventually joined a group of ladies from First Baptist who gathered every week to play canasta, eat, and fellowship. She loved this group of ladies and looked forward to seeing her classy canasta ladies each week. She always greeted everyone with a smile and a laugh. She loved to cut up with people and wanted everyone around her to have a good time.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, JC and Betty Cobb, her brother, Billy Goodman, and her loving husband, George Reeves.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Robby Kerr (Alli Kerr) and Rusty Kerr; her sister, Susan Warren; her brother, Jimmy Cobb; and her significant other, Leon Hutcheson.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church on June 13, 2026. Arrangements were made under the direction of Miles-Nobles Funeral Home.
The family would like to express a special thanks to her hospice nurses, Jessie Johnson of Hospice of South GA and Kimberly Boatright of Regency Southern Care. They would also like to extend their undying gratitude to Jana Yawn and her wonderful staff at Lakeview Retirement Center, where Sharon spent most of the last three years.
Nobles Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Sharon D. Reeves.
