LUCILLE FUSSELL COLEMAN

Lucille Fussell Coleman was blessed to experience 96 years of a rich and wonderful life. She was born on March 14, 1930, in Blachshear, to the late John and Addie Fussell. On Friday, May 8, she peacefully transitioned to her heavnly home. Sister Lucille was a devoted member of Surrency Grove Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a choir member and found great joy on singing her favorite songs, “He is the joy of my salvation,” “Every day I Pray,” and “I’ve been blessed.”

However, her greatest pastime was baking. If you were ever fortunate enough to enjoy one of her cakes or a slice of her pecan pie, you were truly given a taste of heaven.
Lucille met the love of her life, E.C. “Ketter” Coleman, and they were united in marriage on July 12, 1947, at the Appling County Courthouse in Baxley.

Mahone, Joyce Skipper, Elizabeth Simmons, Judy Anne Fussell, Alretha Alford, and Lovey McCloud; and her brothers, Arthur Fussell and Isaiah “Candy” Fussell.
Lucille will forever be cherished in loving memory by her six children: Lynn (the late Fred) Toliver of Lithonia; Betty (Conyers) Hayes and Annie Coleman of Surrency; Larry (Barbara) Coleman of Conyers; Tommy (Edna) Coleman of Huntsville, AL; and Topia Coleman of Louisville, KY.
She also leaves behind three God children: Payne (Sandra) Eason, Suzanne O’Quinn, Ann Singer, and Late Graham Eason (Teresa), all of Baxley; Eighteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She shared a special bond with her “special boy,” D’Shon Hayes her great-great-grandson.
Lucille is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.
