LAURA BIRTEEN COURSON CREAMER


Laura Birteen Courson Creamer, 98 of Baxley, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at her residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.
Mrs. Creamer was born December 31, 1927 to the late Evan Courson and the late Ida Taylor Courson. She was a homemaker and cared for many children in her home. Mrs. Creamer was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel “J. D.” Creamer, Sr.; sisters, Lilly Monteen Courson Varnadore, Violla Willene Courson Archer, Elva Jean Courson Gaspar; brothers, Joseph Manning Courson, John Berrian Courson, Evan Vermont Courson, Jr.; and a grandson, Christopher Glynn Creamer.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Tommy King; sons and daughters-in-law, Dane Carley and Jane Creamer, John Daniel and Stephanie Creamer, Jr., and Glynn Ray and Ok Sun Creamer; her sister, Nancy Christeen Fields; seven grandchildren, Brad King, Eric King, Tiffany Deckard, Danielle Coblentz, Ashlee Hobbs, Evan Creamer, and  Derek Creamer; and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McLellan, Rev. Rick Brown, and Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Brad King, Eric King, Derek Creamer, Evan Creamer, Brock King, Blake King and Steven Poole.
Honorary pallbearers were Cynthia Williams, Jean Williams, Alma Farmer, Ariel Williams, & Comfort Care Hospice.
Musical selections were rendered by the Woodlawn Baptist Church Choir.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
