BETTY JO WRIGHT

Betty Jo Wright, 83, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Betty was born February 20, 1942, in Cairo, to John and Clara Barwick Underwood and lived in Appling County since 1972.
A compassionate matriarch, Betty exemplified warmth and kindness, never meeting a stranger throughout her life.
Betty dedicated her life as a homemaker and the wife of a minister, serving not only her family but also her church community with tireless devotion. Her commitment to her church family was a testament to her faith, and she cherished the relationships she built within her congregation at Alma Church of Christ.
Betty had a heart for animals and took great joy in sharing her life and home with them. Her welcoming personality made her a source of comfort and guidance to many, making significant contributions to the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Betty’s proudest accomplishments were centered around her family, who were the anchors of her life. She nurtured and supported her loved ones, embodying the very essence of a devoted family member who prioritized the well-being of others above all else.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters and husband, Maynard Wright.
She is survived by her children; Alan Wright of Baxley, Lisa Campbell (Mark) of Warner Robins, and Tammy Copeland (Allen) of Brunswick; grandchildren, Mark Campbell, Jr. (Hannah), Jesse Campbell, Cassidy Copeland, Jonah Copeland, Lindsey Copeland and great grandchildren, Savannah Campbell and Charlotte Campbell
Visitation was held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Alma Church of Christ. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. at the Alma Church of Christ. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Care and Services were entrusted to Brannen Family Funeral Services, Glennville, Georgia. “Our Family Serving Your Family.”
