EULA MAE EDWARDS

Eula Mae Edwards, 84, of Hazlehurst passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at her residence under the care of Coastal Hospice.
Mrs. Edwards was born on August 4, 1941 in Hazlehurst to the late Clayton Harrell and the late Willie Mae Harrell.  She was a member of Oak View Baptist Church. Mrs. Edwards worked at the Jeff Davis Courthouse for 44 years, and served as Clerk of Court for 24 years.  She always had a remarkable way of making everyone who knew her feel special.  Her warm smile was constant and genuine, and it brightened every room she entered.  Her generous heart and kind spirit touched everyone.  She will be leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and abounding love that will never be forgotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lee Sharpe and Eudell Brewer.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James L. “PeeWee” Edwards of Hazlehurst; son, Stacey (Rhonda) Edwards of Hazlehurst, and sister, Bonnie Nix of Hazlehurst.  Two grandchildren, Cody (Sophia) Edwards and Cade (Jordan) Edwards also survive.
Funeral services will be on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Yawn and Rev. Royce Hullett officiating.  Interment followed in Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Cody Edwards, Cade Edwards, Richard Nix, James Sharpe, Daniel Edwards, and Colby Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends in attendance.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the time of the service.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Swain Funeral Home.
