Temple of the Higher Calling is a faith-based church committed to serving both the spiritual and practical needs of the community. Rooted in love, compassion, and purpose, the church seeks to uplift individuals and families by meeting people where they are and helping them grow into who God has called them to be.
The church actively serves the community through a variety of outreach programs, including a tutoring program to support academic success, mental health support and resources, and a youth program designed to empower and guide the next generation. In addition, Temple of the Higher Calling operates a food pantry to assist families in need and offers dedicated women’s and men’s programs focused on personal growth, healing, leadership, and spiritual development.
Through service, education, and faith, Temple of the Higher Calling remains committed to strengthening the community and being a place of hope, support, and transformation for all.
The Appling County NAACP is pleased to announce Temple of the Higher Calling will be this year’s Grand Marshal of the 2026 Martin Luther King Day Parade.
The details of the MLK parade are as follows:
– Applications for the parade can be picked up at the Appling Co. Chamber of Commerce in advance and at lineup prior to start.
– The theme for this year’s parade is “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
– Cost to enter floats and units is $20 dollars per floats and units and $35 dollars per vendor.
-Lineup will start at 12:00 noon, and parade starts at 2:00 p.m. on 185 Jr.High Dr., Baxley.
