Beverly Kay Rivers

Beverly Kay Rivers, 65, of Baxley passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at her residence.
Beverly was born January 17, 1959 in Bacon County but resided in Appling County for most of her life. She was a member of Southside Church of God in Alma and was a retired Family Nurse Practitioner for Appling Healthcare where she truly loved her patients and they loved her. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and she loved spending it with her family and friends. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors as well as having a passion for the beach. Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Thompson, and a nephew, Jason Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Bethany (Rex) Cox of Denton; mother, Joyce Thompson of Baxley; sisters, Kimberly (Kevin) White and Sharon Glisson both of Baxley; and brother, Jeff Newsome of Brunswick. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 26, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God with Rev. David Deen and Rev. Ronnie Rentz officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Luke White, David Beckworth, James Henry Hunter, Tony Parise, Jimmy Hunter and Grant Drew.
Musical selections were rendered by Hal Cox, Bekah Drew, and Josh Horton.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
