Forty-eight days
A subscriber, who lives just outside Nashville, TN, sent this picture to us a few days back. This particular newspaper was mailed on Tuesday, September 16. The subscriber notes that it was received on Monday, November 3. It took roughly 48 days for the United States Postal Service to deliver this newspaper to its destination. Many people still like to hold the actual newspaper in their hands and read it. However, if you live outside our local service area, you may want to consider switching to an online subscription. More and more people are making the switch due to the terrible USPS service. We have great postal employees who work hard serving our community every day. We receive very few complaints, on a yearly basis, from local customers. However, distribution centers within the USPS are broken. We mail your newspaper every Tuesday afternoon. The postal service handles nearly 17 billion fewer pieces of mail now than it did 10 years ago. However, the postal service has gained nearly 25,000 employees in that same time period. The USPS now has over 533,724 employees. Why does service continue to suffer?
