Political correctness seems to have taken over our society. Political correctness is the conformity to prevailing liberal and radical left opinions by avoiding certain words, actions, or expressions that seemingly insult, exclude, or marginalize groups of people who are considered socially disadvantaged or discriminated against. How did we get to this point? It is very simple; we allowed it by caving to pressure from the mentally disadvantaged talking heads on the left. I am a Gen X baby, and we were the generation that used the most insults and invented insults for comedic purposes that are still used today. With that being said, my generation is the one that caved to the political correctness pressure the most.
I myself am politically incorrect. The standup comedy we listened to would make liberals cry rivers today. Political correctness has made for soft language because people have trouble facing reality. They want to make everything sterile, including words. This all goes back to the weakening of society. Words and language have to be softened so nobody gets offended. We have tiptoed around the feelings of the woke left so long that it has created a storm. People are afraid to speak in plain language and speak the truth for fear of offending someone. Clearly I am not afraid to tell it like it is, and this is why I have been banned from Facebook so many times.
I like words that are plain, simple, and straight to the point. We do not need all the softening and fluff that has been added. The Bible does not use politically correct terms. Jesus healed the lame, blind, deaf, and dumb not the physically handicapped, visually and hearing impaired, or the slow of speech. If it was good enough for Jesus it is good enough for us. Society has been gaslighted by the politically woke left into believing that if you change the name of the condition you change the condition.
At the end of the day it all boils down to control. This is an ever moving target and it never stops. It never will until we the people say enough is enough. These groups of people want to control how you talk and what you say. The government wants to control what you say because that is how you control thought, and if you can control thought you control the people. We think in language, so the quality of our thoughts and ideas can only be as good as the quality of our language. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
