Don’t feed the bears

Don’t feed the bears. They will become dependent and won’t be able to care for themselves. You see this wrote on signs in parks and forests all over the country where there are wild bear populations. It is time for me to practice what I preach. At my home that I always call Double Wide Paradise, I have always had many animal welfare dependents. The squirrels would wait till the dogs left and sneak up to eat dog food out of the pans on the porch. One day I forgot to fill the pans and I looked out the door and the squirrels were standing on their hind legs looking in the door waiting on me to bring their handout. The next thing that then occurred I had a stray rooster that used to run the yard with the dogs, and it wasn’t long before he found the dog pan. The same incident occurred with the rooster that occurred with the squirrels. I forgot to fill the pan. The rooster, having discovered the pan empty, walks over to the storm door and starts pecking on it, wanting me to fill the pan. There must have been communication between the critters on the hill because before you knew it the word was out that there were free handouts from Double Wide Paradise. All of a sudden, my dog food bill is over $100 a week. The raccoons would come up and take the lid off the dog food can and eat their fill but did not put the lid back on which invited the possums to the buffet.

The lesson learned here… whether it be human or wildlife, they look for their easiest living. In doing so they lose their ambition and instinct to take care of themselves. Just as I played the role of big government to the wildlife and made them dependent on me, so has our government done to a large quantity of our citizens. As I started out with my pets, and it spread to the wildlife, our government handouts started with the citizens and has now spread to the world. I kept feeding the ones that needed me to feed them as well as the ones that did not need me to feed them. The net result of my actions were that the ones that did not need me and could fend for themselves became fat and lazy. They did not want to get out and make their own living and became dependent. Welfare was designed to be a safety net to help people get back on their feet, but not be a way of life and a burden to the taxpayers. It was put in place to help elderly and disabled people who could not fend for themselves to survive. Welfare was not put in place to enable young, able-bodied, people to not work and be lazy so they could draw a check. A lot of young women have multiple children to get food stamps and government money, so they do not have to work.

This is a lesson in irony. The food stamp program is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They boast about distributing free meals and food stamps to millions of people on an annual basis. Meanwhile the National Park Service, run by the U.S. Department of the Interior asks us to please not feed the animals because they will become dependent. The same thing applies with populations of homeless people who are fed daily relying on handouts but are not given opportunities and instruction on finding jobs. Just like the wildlife they have no need to hunt and have become lazy and dependent. News spreads fast as more and more come for the handouts causing it to become an epidemic. This leads to a culture of entitlement and dependence where individuals are no longer motivated to work hard and take risks. They become passive and reactive instead of proactive and innovative.

The state encourages dependency because it wants to control the people. I have said over and over that weak dependent people are easier to control. In doing so we give our power away to the state and they gain control over our lives. Self-reliant people cannot be controlled or manipulated. It is time we stop feeding the bears by raising up the next generation to be self-reliant, hard-working independent citizens. The ones that are already dependent that can work need a hard lesson is learning how to earn their own living.

This should be required reading in every school, college, university, and posted on the walls of every Government office.

Genuine charity is genuinely voluntary–not stolen from We the People using threats of fines and imprisonment via the Tax Code. The ONLY people getting their ordinary living expenses paid for with Public funding are BONA-FIDE “WARDS OF THE STATE”.

Until then, “Welfare” needs to come with MANDATORY contraception, so that they can’t increase the burden on the rest of us with irresponsible procreation.
