ANGELA ALENE CROSBY

Angela Alene Crosby passed away on February 10, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1971, in Decatur, to Alene B. Crosby and James D. Crosby, and lived in Albany, where she was deeply loved by family, caregivers, and all who knew her.
Born with Down Syndrome, Angela lived a life rich in meaning, connection, and joy. Though she spoke without words, she communicated beautifully through her expressions, her smile, and her presence. In her eyes, there was honesty, in her smile, there was welcome, and in her presence, there was peace. She taught those around her that communication is not measured by words, but by love.
Angela, affectionately known as “Peat” to her family, was known for her warm hugs, her love of dancing, and the quiet joy she brought into everyday moments. She lived her life fully alongside her family, friends, and incredible caregivers.
She was involved with Albany ARC (Advocacy Resource Center), a southwest Georgia nonprofit dedicated to advocating for people with disabilities and creating opportunities for inclusion and independence. It was a place where Angela belonged and where her spirit was a gift to others.
Angela is now at peace, held in God’s loving presence—whole and radiant. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and light remain with us.
Angela is survived by her sister, Cheryl C. Findlay; brother, Philip J. Crosby; niece, Sarah F. (Dillon) Drushal; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service to celebrate Angela’s life was held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Crosby Chapel Cemetery, with Reverend Pete Aycock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Angela’s memory to Albany ARC. Donations may be made through their website: https://thearcswga.org/
