Those who traveled past 391 Bay Street on Thursday may have seen a rather unorthodox potluck taking place as the Chamber hosted a Ribbon-Cutting for HMS To Go.
Beneath the tent and drizzle of cold rain, guests huddled together to sample pizza burgers and turkey burgers, grilled ham & cheese, lemon cake, BBQ spaghetti, and the world-famous smoked chicken salad.
“People stop me on the road,” said owner William Hughes. “They literally pull me over [to ask for] smoked chicken salad.” He is also known to make casseroles and other various desserts.
The new location is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and delivers when possible to Baxley and Hazlehurst.
