Appling is also at 14 in the rankings by GHSA, but would go in at the 12 position after the private schools are taken out since they play in their own playoff system now. Appling beating Pierce this week could be a big boost in their rankings and could help them host more playoff games at home the higher they are ranked. Travel to Pierce County Friday night to cheer on the Pirates in this big game that not only has region championship impact, but can also have a big impact on how the Pirates will be ranked in playoffs.
