Miles Norman Moseley, Jr.

 

Miles Norman Moseley, Jr., 70, of Odum, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The Wayne County native was a member of Melton’s Chapel Church in Baxley.  His retirement from Law Enforcement included the Baxley Police Department and the Georgia Department of Public Safety “MCCD”. After retirement, he worked at Hendrix Hauling as a dump truck driver. Norman loved music and played the bass, guitar, and several other instruments.  He sang with the gospel groups, “The Apostles” and “Joyful Noise” of Baxley. You could find him on the golf course or fishing or watching a good NASCAR race. His sister, Norma Jean Whitley preceded him in death along with his brothers, Bob, Wayne, Bill and Cary Moseley.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lynnette Stone Moseley of Odum; daughters, Kellie (Seth) Keough, Karla (Andrew) Werkheiser and Madeline (Scott) Lezert-Ezell; a son, Eli Stone; 8 grandchildren, Kaleb Williamson, Memphis, Trinity and Sydney Duisen, Kaitlyn and Haley Renee Joyner, Holly Werkheiser and Haley Drew Kersey; a sister-in-law, Clora Moseley; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Rinehart Chapel with the Rev. Walker Reddish officiating. Interment followed in the Flint Branch Cemetery.  Active pallbearers were Jarrett Moseley, Lance Reddish, Bill Moseley, Seth Duisen, Isaac Odom and Scott Ezell. Honorary pallbearers were the former coworkers of the Baxley Police Department and the 12:30 Men’s Golf Group at Pine Forest Country Club.

Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
