George Smith Jr.

Mr. George Smith, Jr., was born in Baxley on May 13, 1947. He was the eldest son of the late George Smith, Sr., and Mary Alena Smith. George transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 19, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength that will forever be cherished by his family and all who knew him.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George Smith, Sr., and Mary Alena Smith; brothers, Ricky Donnell Smith and Ishiman Aron Smith; and sister, Zelda Ulda Smith.

He is survived by a loving sister, Karen Smith of Maryland; and three brothers, Ronald Smith of Texas; William Smith of Baxley; and Derrick “Timmy” Smith of Texas; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service was held for Mr. Smith on Sunday, August 3, at Greater Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Baxley. Pastor Tony Reynolds presided over the service, and Minister Karl Rogers was the eulogist. Pallbearers for the service were the Smith brothers.

Funeral arrangements were conducted by C.M. Brown Funeral Home.
