The News-Banner received notification from the Baxley-Appling County Hospital Authority last week that it has narrowed its search for a new CEO down to one candidate. At the Authority’s March meeting, members identified Shannah Martin as the sole candidate for the unfilled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position and has voted to enter negotiations with Martin for the full-time position. Martin has served as interim CEO since the departure of the hospital system’s last CEO Andrea Graham. Graham resigned from the position in July 2024. Martin has a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Leadership from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Georgia College. She is a graduate of the Leadership GHA Class of 2023-24, a prestigious and intensive healthcare leadership development program of the Georgia Hospital Association. She was one of only 23 hospital leaders from around the state accepted into the class session.
