On Tuesday, November 18, Appling Christian Academy’s Christian Honor Society delivered 67 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to Because He Lives Ministries in Hazlehurst.
These boxes will be forwarded through Samaritan’s Purse project and distributed to children across the globe. Each year, the ACA Christian Honor Society leads this mission effort, collecting shoeboxes filled with toys, clothing, books, and hygiene supplies. After gathering the boxes at local drop-off sites, they are shipped to regional processing centers, where Christian materials are added in the recipients’ native languages. Through these gifts, ACA helps share the message of Jesus’ love in places that are often difficult for missionaries to reach.
While ACA contributed 67 boxes this year, globally, Samaritan’s Purse collected 11.9 million shoebox gifts in 2024. Their 2025 goal is to reach 12 million children. ACA extends its gratitude to all the students and parents who participated this year. A special thanks to club advisor, Jamie Beasley, and Mrs. Suzanne Sharpe for chaperoning. ACA is especially grateful to Pastor Michael Sapp of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church for the use of the church van and his help in chaperoning. With God‘s blessing, ACA looks forward to continuing this meaningful outreach and sharing the good news through Operation Christmas Child.
