Each year, hundreds of youth from across Georgia gather at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter to showcase their hard work and dedication to raising and training quality livestock animals. During October 2 – 12, 2025, Appling County 4-H had two youth livestock exhibitors travel to Perry, Georgia, to share their passion for goats and cattle as they competed in the 36th Annual Georgia National Fair Livestock Shows over the course of two weekends.
Bellamy Marchant, a 1st grader at Appling County Primary School, competed with her Market Goats amongst many other determined exhibitors. Bellamy excelled in the show ring as she placed 6th in Showmanship as well as 7th and 8th in class within the Wether Dam Doe Show.

Manning Marchant, 5th grader at Appling County Elementary School and older brother to Bellamy, is no stranger to the show ring. Manning and his cattle secured many titles after dominating in the show ring. Manning was awarded the following: Reserve Champion AOB Steer, Fifth Grade Showmanship Champion, Grand Angus Breed Heifer, Reserve Supreme Overall Heifer, 5th Place Supreme Overall Heifer, and 3rd Overall Junior Livestock Judging Contest Winner.
Congratulations to Bellamy and Manning Marchant on a memorable and rewarding time competing in the 36th Georgia National Fair Livestock Shows! Bellamy, Manning, and many other youth across Appling County are already gearing up for an exciting show season this Spring.
Youth livestock exhibitors commit countless hours to raising and caring for anima
ls while also training and preparing for the show ring over the course of many months. Opportunities to engage with a livestock project challenges young people to develop knowledge in the fields of animal science while also building concepts of business, time management, and leadership as they work alongside caring adults to handle real-life challenges that come with livestock. Youth in 1st – 12th grades may pursue opportunities to develop livestock projects within a range of animal species (goat, cattle, swine, equine, rabbit, etc.).
