Frances Louise Thompkins Miller
Mrs. Frances Louise Thompkins Miller, 92, arrived to her eternal home on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by her family under the care of Comfort Care Hospice, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
Mrs. Louise was a devoted lifetime and charter member of Big Oaks Church of God, serving faithfully and well filling various positions in the church. A Christian mother who cherished the Bible’s teachings and promises of Jesus Christ. Christian values were reflected in every aspect of her life and molded her into the person she was.
She had many roles during her life, working in factory settings and retail for Dollar General, BC Moores, and Altamaha Health Care. Mrs. Louise was a family caregiver for many years before becoming a professional caregiver. In 2012, she was nominated for Caregiver of the Year by her granddaughter and was honored to receive the award from the Heart of GA Regional Commission and Mrs. Rosalynn Carter for the seventeen-county region.
She enjoyed watching the Braves play baseball, even personally attending one of their games, and also loved to watch televised church services.
Mrs. Louise was the first of seven children, born June 23, 1933, to the late James F. Thompkins and Vega Bryant Thompkins. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George W. Miller, and a brother, Belton Thompkins, and sisters, Irene Wiggins and Georgia Mae Creamer.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann Zemp and Regina (Bill) Stone; son and daughter-in-love, George Stanley Miller and wife Lolisa Rentz Miller; five grandchildren to treasure her memory, Les Spikes, Clint Spikes, Casey Johnson, William Tyler Stone, and George Matthew Miller; great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother, Homer Thompkins of Hinesville; sisters, Bertha Buch of Cuero, TX, and Mildred Moore of Hinesville; special lifelong friends, Rilene Folsom, and June Sellers; special niece, Mary Lee Baxley; and a host of family members, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A funeral service was held Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. from the Big Oaks Church of God with the Reverend Mark Grimes, Sister Virginia Herrington, and Reverend Gary Horton officiating.
Mrs. Miller lay in state one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
