National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is observed annually in April to promote victims rights and services. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week was observed this year on April 6-12, 2025. The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) and other local agencies are commemorating this important awareness week by highlighting those who have been impacted or lost their lives due to crime. This display honoring the lives of local individuals was located at the Appling County Courthouse Annex.
The first Crime Victims Week was established in 1981 by Ronald Reagan. The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) leads the nation in the observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
