The November 12 meeting was held at Appling County Primary School. ACREA Vice President Buck Buchannan presided over the meeting. Special guest speakers were Pedro Baltazar, Ag Teacher (Appling County Primary), and Quinda Patrick with Gardner Apiaries. Mr. Baltazar shared his journey as a pastor to become a teacher. One of his greatest joys is the students’ excitement as they learn to grow and harvest food. We learned about beekeeping and the importance of healthy hives. Ever wondered how to give a bee a “shot?” Ask a member of ACREA! In spite of damage caused by Hurricane Helene, the bee business continues to grow and is a critical component of Georgia agriculture.

SPECIAL thank you to Principal Pendarvis, Media Specialist Lassiter and Staff for a warm welcome and delicious food. The kinder choir was very entertaining and as cute as it gets.
Appling County Retired Educators are thankful for the love, respect, and support that our community gives to its senior educators. We wish all of you the happiest of Thanksgivings, full of family, friends, and full bellies.
Our next meeting is on December 10 at Fourth District Elementary.
