Is this number familiar? It should be. Have we already forgotten what we promised we’d never forget 20 years ago?
It seems like it was just yesterday that most of the world stood glued to television or computer screens trying to catch the latest news of what was taking place on U.S. soil. Nineteen cowards/terrorists hijacked commercial airliners and began killing innocent men, women and children.
In New York there were 2,606 people killed at the World Trade Center, 87 killed on American Airlines flight 11, and 60 killed on United Airlines flight 175. In Arlington, at the Pentagon, 125 were killed and 59 killed on American flight 77. In Shanksville, PA, 40 died onboard United flight 93.
September 11, 2001 will forever be etched into our memories. Let’s also continue to remember members of our Armed Services, those who have served and those who continue to fight against the terrorists who wish us harm. God bless the United States.
