The News-Banner received a call last week about an incident that occurred at the new indoor pool construction at Max Deen Recreation Park. Upon arrival, it was obvious something was terribly wrong with the metal rafters on the new building. According to new Interim County Manager Mike Deal, wind caused the rafters to shift and lean to one side as shown above. Deal said the engineers are currently reviewing the damage to see if any of the beams are salvageable. “We are going to make sure it’s right,” added Deal.
