Pirate Brigade named Grand Champions

On Saturday, October 24, the Pirate Brigade traveled to Ware County to compete in the Sound of Gold Marching Band Competition.

This year’s show was named the Greatest Generation with songs from the WWII era such as Patriotic Fanfare, Captain America March, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Sing, Sing, Sing, Honor and American Closer.

This year’s show has been one of the best and has caused many tears and emotions from the crowd. In spite of the difficulties COVID-19 has placed on them, the Pirate Brigade has excelled this year and Director Jonathn Hickox gives all the praise and glory to God for making it possible.

The following awards were received at the Sound of Gold Band Competition.

Drum Major - Superior

Color Guard - Superior

Pit percussion - Superior

Field Percussion - Superior

Band 1 - Superior

Band 2 - Superior

Band 3 - Superior

Overall - Superior

Best in class for AAAA - Color Guard/Auxiliary

Best AAAA Band - Best in Class

Gold Division

Drum Major - Second Place

Color Guard/Auxiliary - First Place

Pit Percussion - Third Place

Field Percussion - Third Place

Overall Band - Appling County

And of course last but definitely not least, GRAND CHAMPIONS!!
