Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service of Mrs. Pearl Lightsey Turner, 85, who passed on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. Turner was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a homemaker, and a member of Zion Church of God.
Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Herrington; her parents, Eston and Senia Pearce Lightsey; and three brothers, Joe Lightsey, Richard Lightsey, and Johnny Lightsey. Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Edsel Turner; four children, Harold Turner, Gary Turner (Pam), Mike Turner (Gigi) and Teresa Hiers (Joey); eleven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; four siblings, George Lightsey, Roger Lightsey (Eleanor), Verlene Moody (Stanley), and Yommie Taylor (Ronnie); three special caretakers, Linda Rowe, Lisa Stout, and Tina Margart; a family friend, Patsy Baxley; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, April 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Church of God with Reverend R.M. Warren, Reverend Mikey Tomberlin, and Reverend Danny Horne officiating.
Interment followed in the Milikin Church Cemetery. Mrs. Turner lay in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Active Pallbearers were Brian Turner, Corey Turner, Cale Turner, Reid Turner, Ben Hiers, and Eli Hiers.
