Winton Thomas “Wink” Herrin, Sr., 69, of Baxley passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Herrin was born June 1, 1951 in Appling County to the late Thomas Aubrey Herrin and the late Ima Dean Fowler Herrin. He was retired from the Appling Co. Board of Education and the owner of Fun Buggies. Mr. Herrin was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God and a former pianist for the Songsmen.

Survivors include his wife, Jody Herrin of Baxley; sons and daughters-in-law, Winton Thomas “Tohn” and Cherae Herrin, Jr. of Brunswick, Mason Thomas Herrin and James Rusty and Ashley Bracewell both Baxley; grandchildren, Jake Herrin, Jared Herrin, Bryson Bracewell, Katie Herrin, and Ragan Bracewell. A special cousin, Greg Herrin, also survives.

A private funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Wiggins and Rev. Billy Bratton officiating.

Interment followed in Zoar Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Rusty Bracewell, Mason Herrin, Jeremy White, Christopher Arnaud, Chandler Smith, and Jake Herrin.

Honorary pallbearers were Bill and Deloris Bowers, Billy and Ruth Vaughn, Carroll and Wanda Waters, Henry and Marsha Jones, Randy and Agnes Sellers, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Turner, and Eddie Dent.

Musical selections were rendered by James Herrin, Jeff Herrin and Tripp Hardee.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
