Roosevelt Hood Jr. was born August 26, 1955 to the late Roosevelt and Laura Mae Hood. He entered eternal rest on September 26, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Roosevelt attended Baxley High School and was a faithful member of the community. On November 8, 1974, Roosevelt joined in holy matrimony to Elizabeth Chambers. Three children were born to this union. He retired from Hazlehurst Mills after 30 years of loyal service to the company.

Roosevelt was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Hood and two aunts, Verdell Miller and Prunett Roberts.

Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Hood of Baxley, his children, Gino Bell (Gloria) of Miami, FL, Roosevelt Hood III of Baxley, and Kathy Streeter (LaDon) of Denton, five sisters, Pearlie Mae Pearsey (Vernard), Shirley Ann Hood, Reatha Mae Carter (Lennie), Jaunita Parker all of Baxley, Vernell Teasley of Bowman, three brothers, Henry Lee Hood, Paul James, both of Baxley, and Samuel Haywood of St. Augustine, FL, two uncles, Bishop Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, Clinton Roberts (Elizabeth) of Baxley, Aunt Alphaline Roberts of Odum, six grandchildren, Teyonna Streeter, Breyonna Streeter and LaDon Streeter Jr., of Denton, Taishna Vann of Statesboro, Alexia Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, and Chris James of Baxley, lifelong friend, Marion Vann and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home with the Apostle Corie Clements presiding.

Musical selections were rendered by Kaliyah Jenkins and Desarie DeLuna.

Professional services were entrusted to C. M. Brown Funeral Home.
