Eileen Doris Eavens, 91, of Baxley passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
Mrs. Eavens was born on August 18, 1931 in North Bergen, NJ to the late William Seidel and the late Sophie Schlehner Seidel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Michael Eavens; daughter, Gail Eavens; and a brother, William Seidel. Mrs. Eavens was a retired bookkeeper with the Agriculture Department of the State of Connecticut.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Eavens of Bennettsville, SC; sons, Brian Eavens of Baxley and Michael Eavens (Linda) of Prospect, CT; six grandchildren, John, Daniel, Derek, Faith, Jeffrey, Zachary and Steven; five great grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Chastity Whitfield.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Chaplain Phil Bunce officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Hospice of South Georgia.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
