Naymon Richard Solomon Sr., affectionately known by many as “Solomon”, was born on May 15, 1944 in Baxley. He was the ninth child of thirteen born to the union of the late William Solomon Sr. and Ora Rayner Solomon. Naymond was called to eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Appling Healthcare System in Baxley.
He was educated in the Appling County Consolidated School System. He later met and married his soulmate, Elaine Ryals, on December 11, and on that day their lifelong journey of over sixty years began. He was a member of Saint John Church of God in Christ.
Naymond was employed with Morris Feed Mill for approximately 30 years. Prior to its closing, Naymond decided to be an entrepreneur and opened his own business, “Solomon’s Salvage”, which he ran until his untimely death.
He was preceded in death by his son, Naymond Richard Solomon Jr., granddaughters, Carrie McKinnon and Shinita McMorris, siblings, Raymond Solomon, Leo Solomon Sr., Izona Mae Tippins, Ora Mae Smith, Jesse L. Solomon Sr., Homer Solomon Sr., Eddie F. Solomon Sr. and William H. Solomon Sr.
Naymond leaves to cherish his memories with his caring and dedicated wife, Elaine Ryals Solomon of Baxley, loving children, Carl Ryals, Eleana (Henry) McKinnon, Veronica Balkcorm (friend, Elasondo Mobley), and Richard Dewayne Foster, 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, brother, James Solomon, sister, Mary Elizabeth (Ronald) Wiggins, Chaudwin Morris Family, sister-in-law, Doris Solomon, Marie Solomon, Mary Solomon, Lucy Solomon, Susie Buxton, Rosa Lee Ryals, and Bernice Hepburn, brother-in-law, Willie Ryals, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
A graveside funeral service was held at Old Field Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with the Pastor James C. Futch giving the eulogy.
Musical selections were rendered by Sister Karla Solomon James.
