Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. John Hiram “Jackie” Drew, 84, who passed away at his residence on Monday, April 10, 2023. Mr. Drew was a resident of Appling County for the past 54 years, a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Douglas, and a retired pipefitter of 50 years with Local #177 of Brunswick. Upon retiring Mr. Drew traveled the country as an independent nuclear supervisor and was a former member of the GA National Guard in Brunswick.

Mr. Drew is preceded in death by his son, Todd M. Drew; his parents, Levon Herbert and Phoebe Duggan Drew; and one brother, K.G. Drew.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Sandra Drew; four children, John H. Drew II (Kristie), Samantha “Tam” Eden, Nancy Kay Sullivan, and Jolynn Saverance; ten grandchildren, Amber Turner (Dylan), Benjamin Drew, Kyle Saverance, Breanna Drew, Austin Drew (Maci), Grant Drew (Rebekah), Anastasia Eden, and LeAnna Drew; two great grandchildren, Saylor Turner, Dallen Drew; four siblings, Von Drew (Markie), Gary Drew (Susan Bowen), Marion Kitler, Carolyn Hardwick; and two sister in laws, Evelyn Drew, and Eugenia Burgess, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buddy Goodwin, and Elder Stanley Carter officiating.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
