Jerry Lee Crosby was born August 5, 1949, in Baxley, to the late Edwin Lamar and Lora Belle Crosby. He is the forth child of eight siblings. On January 11, 2023, he transitioned to a new life at Memorial Health in Savannah. He was preceded in death by one sibling, Linda Lavaughn Crosby.

Jerry worked over twenty years and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He loved fishing and being with his family. He was an easy going, quiet and giving person.

Jerry Leaves to mourn his memory three children: Jacquelyn Crosby and Derrick Crosby, both of Wilmington, Delaware, Terry Bernard Crosby of Baxley; six stepchildren and one he raised as his own, Keonte Fergerson of Macon; siblings: Lora Estelle Cash of Baxley, Annie (John) Thomas of Rochester, New York, Edwin (Levenia) Crosby of Palakta, Florida, Jeanette (Joe) Hayes, Allen Crosby, Idell (Rena) Nails, all of Baxley; Twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a special friend, Lola Banks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The service was held Saturday January 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The service was held at Rachel Missionary Baptist Church in Baxley. Musical selections were performed by the church choir, with solos from Serena Thomas and Gwen Ryals. The invocation was given by Kim Barfield. Pastor Kendall Bennamon presided over the service.

Active pallbearers were David Crosby, Davhert Crosby, Davyon Crosby, Chad Davis, Gregory Sellers, and Shannon Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Jerry’s final resting place is at the Rachel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The funeral services were entrusted to C.M. Brown Funeral Home of Baxley.
