James “Dub” Waustein Harris, Sr., 80, of Hilliard, FL passed away at his residence October 13, 2020. He was born in Folkston on August 24, 1940 to the late Riley Harris and Harriett Lake Harris. In his spare time, he loved to fish and enjoyed working in his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James W. Harris, Jr. and two brothers, Curtis Harris and Dave Harris.

He is survived by his loving companion, Lois Henderson, his children, James “Rowdy” (Trish) Harris, II, Robert “Bob” (Tammy) Harris, A.J. Henderson, Helen Harris, Priss Harris and Michelle Jones, a brother, Carl Harris, a sister, Helen Sikes, 27 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many others that called him Papa Dub and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved each of them dearly and in their own special way.

The family received friends Thursday, October 15 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services were held Friday, October 16, at 11:00 a.m. in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Mitchell Jones officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in the Bachlott Community of Brantley County.

Due to the COVID-19, the family asked all in attendance to follow the rules of social distancing and face masks were recommended at the service. Also to anyone who did not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understood and covet your prayers.
