Elder Yarp Conaway, Jr. was born December 7, 1964 in Hazlehurst to Yarp Conaway, Sr. and Nellie Mae Conaway.
Elder Conaway attended Appling County High School, graduating with the Class of 1982 in Baxley. After graduation he gained employment at Hazlehurst Mills with over 20 years of employment. For 27 years he was a faithful and devoted member of Praise Tabernacle Holiness Church in Graham where Bishop George M. Thomas is the Pastor. During his membership, he dutifully served in the titles of Deacon, Minister, and Elder. He is preceded in death by his son, Antonio T. Conaway and three siblings; Cathy Newkirk, Tammy Newkirk and Alvin Conaway.
Elder Conaway leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 36 - years Carrie Mae Futch-Conaway of Baxley, one daughter, Dedra L. Futch Hill (Eddie) of Atlanta, two sons, Yarp Conaway, III of Fort Eustis, VA and Mario T. Conaway of Augusta, one granddaughter, Enira L. Carter of Atlanta, three grandsons, Quantez J. Futch of Atlanta, Antonio T. Conaway of Hazlehurst, and Mario T. Conaway, Jr. of Hazlehurst, a loving father and mother, Yarp Conaway, Sr. and Nellie Mae Conaway, both of Graham, two sisters, Teresa Byrd (Kenny) of Hazlehurst and Janice Conaway of Pine Grove, three bothers, Marvin Conaway of Pine Grove, Mitchell Conaway (Lisa) of Graham and Romanski Conaway (Tesha) of Baxley. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brother/sister-in-laws and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Morgan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Superintendent James Futch giving the eulogy.
Musical selections were rendered by his Children.
